Reviews and Ratings
The hotel rooms were conveniently close to the penguin facility we wanted to visit and had a modern upgrade. It would have been cozier with a fire burning in the evenings and mornings, and the traditional key entry added charm to the stay. The service was outstanding with courteous and friendly staff, particularly 'Ros', who went above and beyond to assist us. The location was excellent, right across from a supermarket, quiet, close to local attractions, and with nice and quiet communal areas. However, the dining experience fell short, as the food, though delicious, arrived a bit cold and lacked variety for the price. The facilities were well-equipped, offering a range of amenities. Value for money could be improved in certain aspects of the stay.
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were really comfortable, even though they looked different from the pictures online. The service was top-notch, with incredibly friendly and professional staff. The location was convenient, allowing us to explore the charming surroundings with ease. The dining experience was mostly excellent, although cutlery was a bit scarce at times.
The hotel has already had a modern upgrade, but unfortunately, my room overlooked the not-so-pretty roof and was a bit noisy during the night due to a bar across the street. Despite the strong smell of sweat, the overall experience had its positive sides.
The hotel offers functional rooms with everything you need, though somewhat outdated in style. The carpet was thin, but the location is great for walking to main attractions in Oamaru. Service is friendly and professional, but there was a mix-up with our bed configuration. The dining experience is limited, not self-service, but the food was beautifully delivered to our room. The hotel has easy off-street parking behind the building.
Staying at this hotel was a mix of great experiences and a few setbacks. The rooms were spacious and well set out, located above the pub with live bands, but it was a bit of a challenge for my husband when the lift needed to be used. The service was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The location was excellent, being right in the town center and close to a supermarket, allowing us to enjoy the convenience of exploring Oamaru easily. The dining experience was value for money, offering a satisfying meal selection, but there was a minor issue with the washing powder used for the sheets.
